Permanent jewelry is a piece of jewelry--typically a bracelet, anklet, or necklace--that does not include a traditional clasp, so it cannot be easily removed. Instead, the ends of the chain are soldered together while you're wearing them, resulting in a custom-fitted seamless look.
Nope! Getting permanent jewelry is a painless process. The procedure involves a small, safe welding tool that solders the chain together. The weld never touches your skin. In fact, we lay a piece of fabric down to create a barrier that covers your skin for extra safety. All you will feel is the happiness of having your new permanent piece of jewelry ◡̈
Gold-filled jewelry consists of a solid layer of gold that is mechanically bonded to a base metal, usually brass or copper. The gold layer is significantly thicker compared to gold plating. Due to the thicker gold layer, gold-filled jewelry is more durable and resistant to tarnishing. It maintains its appearance over time with proper care. Gold-filled jewelry has a more substantial gold content compared to gold-plated items, making it more valuable and less likely to wear away.
Gold-plated jewelry involves a thin layer of gold applied to a base metal through electroplating. The gold layer is much thinner compared to gold-filled jewelry. The thin gold layer in gold-plated jewelry can wear off relatively quickly, especially with frequent use or exposure to moisture and chemicals. As a result, gold-plated pieces may require more frequent maintenance to keep their appearance and can leave your skin with greenish-blue residue. EW! Gold-plated jewelry is generally less expensive than gold-filled jewelry due to the thinner gold layer and lower gold content.
Because these pieces are designed to last forever, we ONLY offer gold-filled jewelry at all of our locations.
The process of getting permanent jewelry typically takes about 15-20 minutes. This includes the time for selecting your desired piece, any customizations, the fitting process, and the actual weld. Our experienced team will ensure that you receive a perfect fit and a seamless connection, allowing you to enjoy your new jewelry right away! If you’re booking an appointment, please book 30 minutes for EACH person in your group, just to be safe.
The welding process creates a strong bond, ensuring that your piece remains secure. With regular care—like avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning it often—your permanent jewelry can remain beautiful and intact for many years to come. Most clients say they keep theirs on for 1-3 years.
Absolutely! Choosing your metals is completely up to you and your preferences. Some people only like silver, some only like gold, and others like them both!
Depending on how quickly you select your chains & charms, we can usually fit in 1-3 pieces per appointment. We recommend scheduling a 30-minute appointment PER PERSON just to ensure enough time for everyone to get multiple pieces if desired and not feel rushed during the selection and design process.
Of course!! All of the jewelry we sell is sweatproof, waterproof, and tarnish resistant.
We always recommend that you speak with your doctor first and ask if you will need to remove the permanent jewelry before an X-ray or MRI appointment. Most of our clients have not been required to remove their permanent jewelry but that is up to the discretion of your medical professional.
If you do need to remove it for medical purposes, remove it properly by cutting the jumpring and bring us the chain. We will re-weld it for a small $15 service fee.
Yes, we get that sometimes things happen! Eligible repairs and adjustments start at $15. Each piece will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to determine price and eligibility.
Yep! Our clients have never reported an issue to us about getting through TSA. Most jewelry pieces will not trigger metal detectors, but if it does, they will find through their manual inspection that it is only jewelry and nothing against policy. If you have any concerns, it's always best to check the TSA website or contact them directly for specific guidelines.
